Rice and vegetable cultivation
Rice cultivation has flourished in Kurose Cho since old times. However, after the government recommended the cultivation of other crops instead of rice, rice fields were turned into farms and residential areas.
Farmers grow vegetables that are suited to the local climate and soil and generate a lot of income, such as eggplant, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, and white radish.
Some farmers raise cattle and chickens in Kurose Cho. Beef cattle are called Kurosegyu and known across the prefecture for their delicious beef.
There are many factories in Kurose Cho. Most factories manufacture metal products and machinery. Industrial parks are built on wide, leveled mountains.
Although there are some big factories, most of them are small factories that manufacture parts used in big factories.
